Chemotherapy, Dexamethasone enhances antiemetic (nausea, vomiting) such as Ondansetron (Zofran) causing diarrhea

** Nursing Management of Patients with Cancer-Related Anorexia

1. Early satiety, Gastroparesis, delayed gastric emptying, low residue diet, less fiber, Metoclopramide (Reglan), which also treat bloating, causing diarrhea

2. Orexigenic appetite stimulant

   a. Megestrol acetate (Megace)

   b. Corticosteroid: Dexamethasone, causing indigestion (dyspepsia) (fixed by acid suppression Proton-pump inhibitor PPI, which also treat bloating)

   c. Antidepressant: Mirtazapine (Remeron) also treat Gastroparesis

* Symptom of Loss of Appetite During Cancer Treatment

3. Cancer-related fatigue, lethargyAntidepressant Methylphenidate (ritalin)
